SPORTS MASSAGE
Sports Massage Therapy is the physical treatment of soft tissue, combining a traditional manual therapy with
a modern scientific understanding of how the body functions and dysfunctions.
95% of all sports injuries occur to soft tissues and therefore treatable by Sports Massage. But for an
athlete or active person it is important that injury is prevented from happening in the first place. This is
why you should seriously consider including Sports Massage in your regular routine.

- All "athletes"* or active people who follow a training regime introduce their bodies to gradual and controlled over use.
- Over use often creates problems and imbalances in soft tissue and if ignored may become chronic, hinder performance and significantly increase the risk of injury.
- A constant increase in muscle tension through regular activity over stresses joints and the tendons and ligaments that work around them.
- Sports massage is the most effective therapy for the release of muscle tension, restoring skeletal muscular balance and regular sessions within a training schedule helps prevent over use injuries.
- Athletes use sports massage in their training, as an aid to recovery, retaining flexibility and enhancing performance.
*An athlete in this context being an individual who takes part in regular physical activities.
